As Pope St. John Paul II made clear in his apostolic exhortation Catechesi Tradendae, “The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.”

It details what revelation is and how it came about in history, including how the Bible was put together. The book gives an overview of Scripture, focusing especially on the Gospels and their prominence in the life of the Church.
