This book stands as the "source and origin" of all Fr. Faber's other writings; for it contains the fundamental insight which leads to a proper understanding of our religion. Fr. Faber says men in the modern era accept God's existence; but deny His sovereignty in practice. Though composed in mid-19th century; this book is absolutely on target today; for man's tendency to arrogate to himself the prerogatives of God; although strong in Fr. Faber's time; is epidemic today. A real eye-opener!
