Pier Luigi Zampetti is Professor of Constitutional Law and Politics at the University of Genoa. In 1981 he was elected by the Italian parliament to become a member of the Senior Council of the Italian National Magistrature, where he was president of the Special Commission on law reform and the administration of Justice. He has published a number of important works of political science.
