A fast-paced, inspiring and sometimes humorous story of one of the greatest Popes of all time. He promoted frequent Communion, lowered the age for First Communion, fought Modernism, brought back Gregorian Chant, and strongly emphasized catechism instruction - even teaching it himself as Pope!  He reformed the Breviary, initiated a new code of Canon Law, etc., and set out "to restore all things in Christ".

Born in 1869, Alice Forbesconverted to Roman Catholicism in 1900 and entered the Society of the Sacred Heart as a postulant. She wrote many brief biographies of the saints, including Sts. Ignatius Loyola, John Bosco, Teresa of Avila, Monica, Athanasius, Catherine of Siena, Benedict, Saint Vincent de Paul, and, most famously, Pope Saint Pius X. Mother Frances Alice died in 1936.
