The Life and Glories of St. Joseph / Edward Healy Thompson

No words of St. Joseph are recorded In Scripture. In fact, little mention is made of him there. Yet, despite these seeming limitations, the Church nonetheless possesses an indescribably rich knowledge of St. Joseph and of his cultus. Edward Healy Thompson (?-1891) was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge and took Anglican orders shortly thereafter. He and his wife, Harriet Diana Calvert, converted to Catholicism in 1846, after which time they both devoted themselves to composing Catholic literature. His brother Francis Thompson, is most well known for his poem The Hound of Heaven.
