The Seven Last Words, by Bishop Fulton Sheen, is a book written approximately one-half century ago. Few books can match it for either retreat or spiritual reading. Bishop Fulton Sheen's teaching, preaching, and writing informed, enlightened, and inspired millions of people during his full and active live. His success sprang from a combination of deep intellectual knowledge and a profound spirituality, Steeped in the teaching and traditions of the Church he was gifted with an ability to reach people of all religious backgrounds. He was a pioneer and a master in the use of mass media to convey the truths of the Gospel. People responded to the certainty of his convictions and the authenticity of his concern and love for them. At his death in 1979, there was a tremendous outpouring of love and respect shown to him.
