This Latin/English, 1,600-page prayer book contains the texts from the Liturgy of the Hours for Lauds (Morning Prayer) and Vespers (Evening Prayer) for the entire liturgical year. The Latin text is the official version of Lauds and Vespers, intended and approved for liturgical use. This unofficial English text is a new, faithful translation of the prayers and antiphons by the priests and seminarians of Newman House. This new edition will enable one to pray in the language of the Roman Church, and to do so with greater understanding. The purpose of this volume is to promote the use of Latin in the Liturgy of the Hours. It contains the entire liturgical year, including the texts for the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter, a well as a section on “How to Pray Lauds and Vespers.”
